Another competitive season is about to wrap up in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Super Series with the Silverstone International circuit the setting for the final three races of the 2019 season. With an incredible amount of race winners this year, many of them are back to try and add to their tallies.

Brian Chandler holds the most Super Series wins this season with five to his name after two rapid weekends at Pembrey and Cadwell Park early on. He has elected to make a late entry for Silverstone in a bid to increase that number to as many as eight for the year and given how quick he was a few months ago, it's likely it may well be a repeat of that form.

James Kell is here too, along with his father Darren, and he joins us for the final rounds as part of his double duties this season racing here and also in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup. James has won three times this year but has also had his tough moments such as retirements from Pembrey and Anglesey. Nonetheless, all the track time he's had this year has only been a benefit and he could take the fight to Chandler. So too could Jo Marshall, who has won 4 times in 2019 and even made a couple of appearances within the MX-5 SuperCup field to boot, proving his pace and development over the season.

Other winners include Matt Pickford and Simon Hutchings, the victors from the previous rounds at Donington Park. Pickford's two wins had been a long time coming as continuous improvements in qualifying and race pace thanks to his BC Cars Motorsport team have helped him get quicker and quicker as the race weekends have come and gone, and Donington was something of a culmination of all that hard work and effort. As for Hutchings, he's back for his second weekend after a sensational Super Series debut, making his first appearance at Donington after regularly racing in the Welsh Saloon & Sports Car Championship beforehand in a Mk3 MX-5. Making an instant impact and enjoying himself in the process, Hutchings could be a dark horse once more to cause a surprise.

We shouldn't forget Jeremy Crook too, who has been another stalwart of MX-5 racing over the last few seasons. A new car back at Snetterton helped him race to his first Super Series win and since then he's made a successful appearance in the BRSCC Saloon & Sports Car support races at Donington at the British GT season finale, winning his class in both races. He will be keen to round off the year with a strong result or two.

Other regulars on the grid include Simon Fleet, who must be desperate for his first Super Series win after coming so close on more than one occasion, while Jake Swann-Dixon will be riding high from his best Caterham Motorsport weekend to date at the Brands Hatch finale. Russ Lindsay, David O'Reilly, Adam Rowlandson, George Grant, Xavier Brooke, Jim Hart, Declan Lee and Clive Powles are all back on the grid too, while James Cossins makes his debut this weekend too.
